Montis Private · Ski Prep
Six weeks, written for your legs.
Not a template with your name on it. A six-week block authored around what your knees have been through, how many days a week you can actually train, and the trip or the season you're pointed at. Three sessions a week. Three phases. One skier.
A handful of builds per season. Eddie writes and reviews every one.
Who this is actually for
A private build is worth it when a stock program would have to guess about something important. If none of these sound like you, the self-serve block is the better buy and Eddie will tell you so.
Knee or back history
Reconstruction, a meniscus, a disc, a season lost to something that still talks to you on day three. The programming has to route around it rather than pretend.
One trip, hard deadline
Chamonix in eight weeks, a heli week, a hut trip. The block has to land on a date, and everything before it has to earn its place.
Two or four days, not three
Shift work, travel, a barn full of animals. A three-day template you can only half-run is worse than a two-day block written to be finished.
What you get
An intake conversation, not a form
Thirty minutes on the phone about the history, the surgeries, what the last ski season felt like in your legs by February, and what you want out of this one. Eddie writes the block from that.
A program that lives in the app
Your block is a real Montis program on your account — every session, every cue, every video, on your phone at the gym. Not a PDF you lose in your downloads folder.
A knee/back-aware track if you need it
A parallel version of the same six weeks with the same phase intent and different loading. Same block, different route through it. You do not have to choose blind — Eddie picks it with you.
Mid-block adjustment
Weeks are not sacred. If week three tells us the hinge loading was optimistic, it gets rewritten. A private build that cannot change mid-flight is just a template with a phone call attached.
The shape of the six weeks
The exercises get chosen for you. The architecture does not move, because this part is what makes six weeks feel different from six weeks of lifting.
Weeks 1–2
Groundwork
Own the lowering on every rep before the weight goes up. Split squats, hinge patterning, lateral work at a load you can control all the way down. The control built here is what the rest of the block loads.
Weeks 3–4
Load
Weight goes onto the hinge and the lateral work. Crisp sets, no grinders. Braking strength is the whole point of this phase — the leg that holds a turn at the end of a long run is a leg that can absorb, not one that can push.
Weeks 5–6
Ski-Specific
Landings, edge changes and ski-position work join the strength. If a real ski day lands in the week, it replaces the capacity session — the mountain is better at this than the gym is.
Three sessions a week: strength and braking, edge and rotation, capacity and position. Sets and reps stay as written — progression comes from the phase changing, not from a number creeping up every week.
If your knees or back have history
There is a second version of this block. Same three phases, same intent, different loading and different exercise choices — deeper on control and position, lighter on the movements that tend to be the argument. Sessions run 35 to 40 minutes instead of 45 to 50.
It exists because “work around it” is not a program. Which track you run is a conversation, and if what you describe belongs in front of a clinician rather than in a training block, Eddie will say that instead of selling you six weeks.
Montis is training, not medical care. Nothing here diagnoses or treats anything, and none of it replaces the person who actually examined you.
How it works
You send the note below
History, timeline, how many days a week you can train, what you're pointed at. Two sentences is enough to start.
Eddie replies, usually within two days
Either with a time to talk, or with a straight answer that a stock program would serve you better. Both happen.
You hear the price before anything is owed
What the build costs is quoted on that call, against what you actually need. No number is charged before you have agreed to it.
The block shows up on your phone
Written, loaded onto your account, first session ready. You train it. It gets adjusted as it runs.
Ask about a private build
Builds are limited per season because one person writes them. Tell Eddie what you're working with and he'll tell you honestly whether this is the right thing to buy.
Prefer email? hello@montislab.com. No list, no drip sequence — this goes to a person.
Not sure you need a private build?
Most skiers don't. The self-serve trip prep block is the same coaching voice and the same session library, priced for everyone, and you can start it tonight. If you run it and find the sticking point is something a template can't see, come back here.
